What are the economic rights of the author?

Economic rights protect authors' financial interests by granting the exclusive right to authorize or prohibit the use of the work or its copies. They also entitle the author to receive remuneration for the use of the copyrighted work. Unlike moral rights, economic rights are transferable. There are several economic rights, including:


  • right of reproduction,

  • right of public performance,

  • right of public transmission,

  • right of public broadcasting in phonograms and videograms,

  • right of public display,

  • right of retransmission,

  • right of secondary broadcasting,

  • right of making available to the public,

  • right of adaptation,

  • right of distribution,

  • right of rental.
