Legal entities are liable for infringement of economic rights with a fine from 1700 to 5000 euros.
Sole proprietors are liable for a fine ranging from 350 to 3000 euros
The responsible person of a legal entity or sole proprietor is liable for a fine ranging from 350 to 1500 euros.
An individual is liable for a fine ranging from 350 to 1000 euros.
Copyright infringement may also entail criminal libality, as stipulated in the slovenian Criminal Code. A person who publishes a work protected by copyright under his or her own name or under a name of another person (that is not the real author) is liable to a fine or imprisonment of up to one year. A person who damages, mutilates, or otherwise unlawfully interferes with a work protected by copyright is liable to a fine imprisonment of up to six months.
If the infringement concerns the author's economic rights, and the total market value of the affected works is of considerable value, the perpetrator is liable to imprisonment of up to three years.
If the value of the work protected by copyright is of high value, the perpetrator is liable to imprisonment of up to five years.
For the purpose of criminal law, “high value” is defined as damage amounting to 5000 euros or more, and “considerable value” as damage amounting to 50.000 euros or more.
