What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism means presenting someone else’s work, ideas, or words as your own. If you wish to use an excerpt from another author’s work, you must clearly mark it as a quotation and cite the source. This is usually done by placing the quoted text in quotation marks or italics. The source must also be cited when paraphrasing or summarizing the original text.
